AMAG Receives Reliable Connectivity from a Single Source.

The IT department of the AMAG Group was looking for a service provider capable of delivering internet services to more than 150 locations of Switzerland’s largest automotive company.
As the only provider, Cyberlink offered two internet connections from independent providers — along with unified support from a single source. A solution that truly pays off.

AMAG Corporate Services AG provides ICT services for the entire AMAG Group, Switzerland’s largest automotive company. Part of these services is a nationwide communications network connecting both company-owned branches (such as sales locations and warehouses) and partner sites like Europcar stations. With the ongoing digitalization of AMAG’s business processes, the requirements for this communications network have steadily increased in recent years. For this reason, AMAG launched an ambitious project to leverage the latest SD-WAN technology to improve connection quality, increase service availability and capacity, and reduce overall network costs.

“We were looking for a service provider who could deliver greater bandwidth, guarantee redundancy between locations, and provide fast technical support,” summarizes Andreas Carriero, Head of IT Networks & Voice at AMAG Corporate Services AG. It was also important to have a single point of contact who would manage all involved providers in the background, thereby reducing complexity. AMAG chose Cyberlink to implement the project. The Zurich-based managed services provider not only met the requirements but also impressed with its strong price-performance ratio, transparency, and technical expertise.

The development of the network design and the processes for deployment and operations were carried out in close collaboration between AMAG and Cyberlink. The result was a streamlined end-to-end solution without unnecessary complexity or costs. It was thoroughly tested during a proof-of-concept phase from October 2017 to April 2018 and has been fully operational since summer 2020. Despite several personnel changes, the project implementation — from planning to rollout across more than 150 locations — proceeded very smoothly, reports Carriero. For him, the advantages of Cyberlink’s solution are clear: fast communication and short decision-making paths are key. “In the past, it sometimes took a long time to receive support when problems occurred — and communication was not always optimal. With Cyberlink, we have found an excellent service provider that offers us a single point of contact,” says Carriero. “Cyberlink truly lives support. If they notice something during monitoring, they inform us immediately. And when we have a problem, Cyberlink addresses it right away. That’s exactly what we were looking for.”

Carriero is convinced not only by the support and project execution but also by the quality of the services. “The performance of the services has remained consistently high. Cyberlink kept its promises, and we greatly appreciate that.” In the past, AMAG experienced at least one outage per month with its previous provider. “Today, our network is far more stable,” Carriero notes with satisfaction.

What lessons did AMAG learn from the project implementation? According to Carriero, there were challenges in managing orders and activation data, occasionally leading to misunderstandings that required effort on both sides. “An important takeaway is to review orders carefully and verify them together — both partners learned from this. However, Cyberlink always acted in a very accommodating and professional manner.”

AMAG Corporate Services AG is fully satisfied with the services delivered by Cyberlink. “What impresses me most is that Cyberlink, as a relatively small company, delivers exceptionally high quality and flexibility,” concludes Andreas Carriero. “A large enterprise like AMAG depends on that flexibility.” In the medium term, AMAG plans to modernize its existing network hardware and increase bandwidth for big data applications — once again relying on Cyberlink’s expertise.
