Challenge
Coop Pronto aimed to future-proof its network infrastructure to seamlessly support modern business processes such as cloud-based POS systems, cashless payment solutions, and digital loyalty programs. The priority was a flexible, high-performance, fully fiber-based solution delivering near 100% availability to ensure innovative and stable operations. At the same time, the architecture needed to remain scalable for future business requirements and technologies without disrupting ongoing operations. Security, performance, and maximum efficiency were at the core of the project.
Solution
By choosing an SD-WAN solution based on HPE Aruba Networking, Coop Pronto implemented a modern network infrastructure combining stability, security, and flexibility. The new architecture ensures fully redundant connectivity for all locations. By combining business-grade fiber connectivity with a mobile 5G service, site availability of 99.95% is achieved, providing a reliable foundation for data-sensitive applications. The 5G connection serves not only as a backup but can also operate in parallel with the fiber connection, guaranteeing maximum resilience and flexibility.
A central element of the solution is the multi-provider strategy, which reduces dependency on individual providers and significantly increases resilience. Cyberlink implemented the nationwide connectivity for all 330 locations with business fiber services and 5G mobile access, including routers, SIM cards, and proactive signal monitoring — laying the foundation for a highly available network infrastructure.
The solution is complemented by the cloud-based management platform Aruba Central, enabling centralized administration of all sites, consistent policy enforcement, and real-time network analytics. HPE Aruba Networking’s integrated SD-WAN technology provides intelligent traffic steering, ensuring business-critical applications are prioritized and operated with exceptional reliability.
The solution is operated by Bechtle under a 24/7 SLA, ensuring continuous monitoring, rapid response times, and maximum availability. This provides Coop Pronto with the assurance that all business-critical applications operate reliably around the clock.
Following a carefully planned proof of concept and a successful pilot phase, the rollout across all 330 locations was implemented smoothly. The result is a future-ready network architecture that not only meets current requirements but can also flexibly adapt to evolving business needs.
