Today, the Zurich Film Festival (ZFF) is the largest autumn film festival in the German-speaking world and a stepping stone to the Oscars. It was first held in 2005.

During the festival period, Cyberlink ensures communication between the various festival sites. In terms of bandwidth, availability, and redundancy, the independent network provider delivers the best possible connectivity for each ZFF location. “The site networking for the ZFF is not highly complex, but we need to be extremely flexible,” says Florian Maag, Network & Systems Engineer at Cyberlink. “Every autumn, we make sure that all temporary festival locations — such as ticket sales points and festival venues, which may vary from year to year — are optimally connected. Visitors do not see what we do behind the scenes, but without the private network, for example, ticket sales would not be possible.”
All temporary locations — including the festival center at Bellevue, the ticket booth at Paradeplatz, and the Frauenbadi — are interconnected with the headquarters via a private corporate WAN and are additionally provided with internet access.
Once the configured routers are installed on site, 24/7 support ensures smooth operations and guarantees that any potential disruptions are resolved as quickly as possible.
DMVPN – the optimal site networking solution for the ZFF.
Every site networking project is different. A homogeneous MPLS network with high MTU size, encrypted data transmission, or application-based routing? In a joint evaluation process with the ZFF, the technology decision was made in favor of Dynamic Multipoint Virtual Private Network (DMVPN) using IP tunnel technology. This allows different connection technologies to be combined seamlessly. The approach provides flexible solutions for both individual workstations and corporate headquarters.
