Cloud and connectivity – synergies for stable and secure operations.

To deliver its ICT solutions, Seabix builds on Cyberlink’s cloud and connectivity services. This allows Seabix to focus on its own value creation while benefiting from powerful synergies. Specifically, Seabix customers are connected via the Cyberlink network, enabling their data traffic to reach the Seabix cloud directly — without detours via the public internet. The Seabix cloud itself is based on Cyberlink infrastructure and is hosted entirely in Swiss data centers. This approach enhances security, as a large portion of data traffic remains exclusively within the private Cyberlink network. Thomas Knüsel adds: “Cyberlink acts as a single point of contact for all services and provides transparent communication at all levels, with direct access to technology and management. For Seabix, this results in simple processes, short communication channels, and manageable operating costs.”

As a mobile provider, Seabix equips Cyberlink routers with its own SIM cards, enabling mobile fallback to Cyberlink primary lines. Thanks to a Cyberlink gateway, the IP addresses of the primary line remain accessible via Seabix mobile and can be used without restriction. Seabix’s requirements for such a solution also acted as a catalyst for Cyberlink’s own mobile offering initiatives.

Innovative solutions instead of compromises.

Thanks to Cyberlink’s proprietary dynamic QoS solution, Seabix can ensure traffic prioritization end-to-end — even on cost-effective DSL connections from the customer’s location, whether in the office or home office, all the way to the Seabix cloud. This enables the highest quality standards for real-time applications such as VoIP, streaming, or remote desktop — without compromise and yet cost-efficiently. The required QoS profiles are monitored by Cyberlink and automatically adapted to changing network conditions. This distinguishes the solution from static QoS offerings by other telecom providers, which ignore changes in DSL synchronization speed and thereby reduce the effectiveness of traffic prioritization.

With Cyberlink’s DDoS protection service, Seabix reliably protects all its customers against such attacks. For an IT outsourcing company like Seabix, a positive customer experience is essential. Working on desktops or mobile devices must be first-class at all times — despite, or precisely because of, the significant physical distance between users and servers in the data center. The same applies to the parallel use of centralized infrastructure by many users. Through a GPU-supported dedicated cloud infrastructure, Cyberlink has met Seabix’s high requirements for graphics performance for specific workloads. Cyberlink designed, implemented, and now operates this solution. By using both environments in parallel, Seabix can optimally combine the advantages of a dedicated private cloud with those of Cyberlink’s shared cloud environment.

Cyberlink’s S3 storage service is another perfectly tailored addition to the Seabix cloud. At the customer’s request, the S3 API functionality was even extended to include user management capabilities.
