The Secure EFTPOS Network (SEPN) uses SCION technology to provide a secure and decentralized platform for cashless payment processing. Participants such as merchants, acquirers, and issuers connect via EDGEs (routers), enabling simple, configuration-free access to critical infrastructures. Traffic to these infrastructures is automatically routed through the SCION network, effectively separating critical services from the public internet. This ensures high availability, DDoS prevention, and protection against hijacking. In addition, SEPN reduces the attack surface and enables geofencing, significantly improving security and business continuity in payment processing. As a result, all participants benefit from a reliable and resilient payment infrastructure.

With the latest software version, EDGE-to-EDGE encryption on SCION is now possible. This feature is already being actively used by some SSFN participants. You can find further and more detailed information on the Anapaya website.
“EDGE-to-EDGE Encryption” not only significantly increases the security of data traffic, but also reduces operational effort and improves availability to external partners. True to the motto: reducing complexity and costs while simultaneously increasing security, stability, and availability.
To use the “EDGE-to-EDGE Encryption” feature, the following requirements must be met:
- Ordering the Anapaya Pro license from Cyberlink (contract adjustment required)
- Software version v0.39.0 (Cyberlink plans to roll out version v0.40.6 in February)
- The respective connection partner must also have an Anapaya Pro license and the required software version
- Configuration of the connection on both sides
If you order the Pro license by no later than 31 March 2026, we will cover your additional costs for the first three months.
